Russell Swift, DVM

I am a 1985 graduate of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. I have been practicing in South Florida since my graduation. In the late 1980's, I began moving towards a more holistic approach to health care for myself, my family and my patients. I have spent all the years since studying various approaches to health care. Primarily, I have focused on nutrition and classical homeopathy. I have, however, studied to some degree the following: Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, Homotoxicology, Biochemics, Flower Essences, Chiropractic, Laser Therapy. The reality is there is little I haven't read about or experienced personally in the arena of holistic health care.

I am a strong supporter of personal liberty, as delineated in the Constitution - Liberty as provided by God, not by human. Ultimately, I believe all healing comes from God and that the healer is only the conduit.

Currently, I have a house call veterinary practice in Broward and Palm Beach counties. Most of my patients are dogs and cats who have been diagnosed with severe and often terminal conditions. I have been blessed to be the agent for improving the health of many such pets. I see health as a dynamic process. That means I am always looking for the health of a pet to be moving in a positive direction. That is more important than just making symptoms disappear. Often, the health of an individual is worse overall with symptomatic treatments.

I am an ardent proponent of raw foods feeding and have been for nearly 20 years. I also advocate minimizing and eliminating when possible the use of all toxic substances like flea/tick products, heart worm pills, vaccines, etc.
